Welcome to our professional international education website!
Navigating through these pages will introduce you to the teaching team of Tim and Erin
Henkels. Seven years ago we moved to Colorado with nothing more than ambition, a
pair of skis, and some climbing shoes. After meeting many academic, work, and
personal goals, we decided in 2006 to further challenge ourselves in the community of
American schools overseas.
We now teach at Colegio Americano de Quito, an international IB school situated just
south of the equator in Ecuador. We are very pleased with our teaching positions. Erin
teaches 11th and 12th grade IB Psychology and Theory of Knowledge, and Tim teaches
7th grade English, Social Studies, and 12th grade IB Theory of Knowledge. However,
after two years in Quito, we feel the need to explore new opportunities in the
international school community.
Inside these webpages you will find evidence of two teachers committed to
excellence, creativity, and compassion. We thank you for your consideration of us for
