Welcome to our professional international education website!
Navigating through these pages will introduce you to the teaching team of Tim and Erin
Henkels. Four years ago we moved away from our beloved Colorado home to challenge
ourselves academically, professionally, and personally by teaching overseas. For two years
we taught in Quito, Ecaudor at Colegio Americano, an MYP and IB school.
We now teach at Bilkent Lab and International School, an IB school situated on the Anatolian
Plateau, in Ankara, Turkey. We are very pleased with our teaching positions. Erin teaches
12th grade IB Psychology and 10th grade IGCSE English, and Tim teaches 7th grade English,
9th and 10th grade IGCSE History, 9th and 10th Grade IGCSE Global Perspectives, and he is
the Grade Coordinator for the 7th grade. Though we enjoy our positions here, and we love
Turkey, we are on the lookout for a school and country that will fulfill us professionally and
personally for more than the typical "contract" period.
